![]() Is there such a thing as researching/reviewing/editing in the narration sphere or are they just expected to get everything right? This is something I ponder often. even a great attempt can be ruined by the simplest of mistakes on common place names or phrases that are just incorrect. I will just say that almost all Americans shouldn't attempt Australian/New Zealand accents, some UK voice actors do Aussie/Kiwi OK but native speaking are just better. narrators can really make or break a book. having said that it is truly annoying when you fork out money for an audiobook that is intolerable, having that grating/shrill voice, mispronounced words etc right in your ears is infuriating. Highly subjective, oftentimes genre specific, and of course author/country specific too, if you only listened to the same narrators all the time life would be very boring, so don't be afraid to branch out, especially borrowing for free from your local library, most will have access to thousands and thousands of audio & ebooks.
